WANTED: CDR 99 (32xCert.) 100Pcs Spindle w/ shipping $45

Postby aztechya on Thu Jan 01, 1970 5:56 am

I have looked exhaustively for 32x cert 99min cdrs 100pack spindle that cost $45 or less with shipping.

The lowest I did find was 45 bucks for a 100pack spindle but shipping was 17 f'in bucks! That is just ludicrous.

If any knows some website selling 100packs of 99min cdrs that are 32x cert for 45 bucks or less with shipping please email or PM me

Hmm...no 99 min discs here, but I can sell you 200 32x 80min CDRs for $45. That's 6,100 extra minutes!

No 99min CD is 32X certified. 99min CD's are experimental and are not guaranteed to work in any burner. The fastest recommended speed to burn 99min CD-R's is 16X.

The manufacturer can claim a top write speed. If someone experiments with Non-standard cdr's then in the process of testing and quality control they can state that "we certify this disc has burned correctly at 32x).

Are the following websites featuring 32x 99min cdrs falsely advertising:

I wouldn't say they are falsely advertising, although the advertising is shoddy at best.

In the case of AEC Media, notice most of the burners tested don't even reach full capacity of the disc. Only a few of the burners write a full 99 minutes, most are in the 89 minute range. That being the case, why not save money and get 90 minute CD-R's? Also on the AEC Media site, how many of those burners support 32X writing? I can't find many, most of them are older drives (24X and below). In that case, I'd say the media will definitely burn at lower speeds on those particular drives.

Media International is the same way, most of the results show 89 minute capacity and not the full 99 minutes. Why waste the money buying 99 minute discs that won't write the full 99 minutes? Furthermore, in the disclaimer is states:

· Try writing at different speeds - some drives will only work on a particular speed. Slower is not necessarily better - some writers will write at 8x, but not at 4x, and not at 12x.

You aren't guaranteed anything, and I think if you are trying to record a full 99 minute disc at 32X then you are getting your hopes up.

I need 99's to burn divx movies to.

I have a drive that will write to Approx 98 mins. I really can use those extra 8 minutes/80megs. The chart shown at those sites doesn't include Liteon LTR40125. That's what I am using.

Precisely my point, you have no evidence that the blank media in question will write at 32X on the Lite-On LTR-40125.

For those how have never tried a 99 minute disc.

You'll be surprised how many drives out there don't write a full 99 minutes.

If you own an LG or a Lite On, they do. My LTR-52246S wrote a full 99 minutes @ 8x with out a single error.

Here's the big info: if a 99 minute disc is rated @ 40x (mine are) that indicates the normal 700mb capacity rating. If you enable the overburning feature, expect to write lower than 12x. Anymore than that and you're pushing your luck.

Yes, you can use a 99 minute disc just like an 80 minute disc, just ensure that overburning is disabled in Nero. It's an expensive cd-r in that case.

One Princo DVD-R 4.7GB is cheaper than two 870MB 99 min. CD-R. Waste of money.
