Lite-on 52246S new fimware 6S0A problem ?

Postby Vim on Fri Jan 03, 2003 7:07 am

I purchased the traxdata venus2 (48x24x48x), upgraded it with the lite-on firmwares (6s02, 6s07, 6s08), and this morning with the new 6s0A.

Then I noticed a big change : while nero 5.5.10 allowed all recording speeds with all the previous firmwares, now with the 6s0A, it allows only 4x, 8x and 52x !

I had no nero aspi installed before, so I tried to install them : wnaspi32.dll (2.0.0.11) and neroapix.vdx (1.0) but nothing changed. More, with the latest wnaspi32.dll (2.0.1.50), nero allowed only 4x and 8x recording speeds ! What an improvement... :o

Did you notice anythnig like this with yours ? Have you any solution ? I think to go back to the 6s08 firmware.

Thx for your reply, and may this year be sweet to you  !

No such problem. I have a Lite-On 48246S that I flashed to a 52246S using 526S0A after first upgrading firmware to 48SS0A. Used FlashFix which can be found at:

http://digitri.tk/

Working flawlessly at 52X with the option to burn at every speed beginning with 4X .

My understanding is that FlashFix will also let you downgrade to 48X firmware. Good to know, if you must do so.

This happens often with NERO. It often corrects itself eventually, or with the next update. A re-installation might do the trick.

Dave is right I had similar problems with upgrading to the previous firmware. I was just seeing 3 speeds too. But eventually after some restarts, it automatically learnt the correct details. In my case I didn't have to re-install Nero either.

Yes, after a few restarts, the problem got solved by itself... All the burning speeds are now available.
Just needed patience and good advice from you folks !

Nero: self-healing (or is that self-failing) software. Isn't IBM trying to promote something like that?
