Yamaha CRWF1 on external enclosure ?

Postby kskarthi on Fri Jan 17, 2003 1:31 pm

Hello ,

I am a newbie here. I am interested in Yamaha external CDRW - F1zdx - the one with both usb & firewire interfaces. But it is expensive - around $270.

Instead can I get CRWF1 which is an internal drive and use an enclosure (available at newegg for around $70 bucks) ? This way I may save around $100 bucks. Will this work. Any experiences? Any advices ?

Thanks in advance for the responces.

A couple of weeks ago I saw that NewEgg was selling enclosures which appear to have been produced by Welland (www.welland.com.tw). I've been using ME-320F (FireWire) with Lite-On LTR48125W for six months without problems, and I've seen many positive users' reports on these enclosures with various burners and HDDs. The only thing to check is whether it is big enough for the Yamaha.
