Hey hey, mind to do some burning speed testings and can you report to us if it's media friendly? I am planning to get one too since it's cheap here.

All I have to say is that it won't write to the Fuji 48x media at 52x.

Whoa, even expensive discs 48x rated TY can't be burnt @ 52x using this writer :x But did the disc burnt @ 48x or even lower speed?

I haven't done a lot of write testing with the drive yet. I just noticed that it limited the maximum writing speed to 48x with the Fuji discs.

At least it uses P-CAV when rewriting though.

Hey Pedro99, can you burn a full 80 minutes @ 52x for Ritek and 48x for Princo and tell me the total time required?

TIA.

Thank you for the testings, the write times aren't that bad compare with the Liteon 52x. I will head out for this tomorrow, hope it isn't as media picky as my previous LG 40x RW.

I thought this drive would also read CDR @ 52x max but it didn't. Hope new firmware will add a new speed boost feature.

I also like when you insert CDR media to the drive, the maximum speed for that particular disc is shown instead of displaying the max speed 52x for all media inserted.
