I guess you could be able to.

Use FlashFix or MTKFlash with the correct firmware or .bin file.

Flashfix is a pretty easy to use program, so I would go with that.

IMO the Lite-ON firmwares are the best. You could safely flash your drive with any of the following:
TDK 5200B (67U2, or 67U4)
TDK 4800B (S7S3, S7S4, S7S5, S7S7, S7S8)
CCR-6S48 (2SG1, SSG2, SSG3)
CCR-6S52 (6SG1, 6SG3)
LTR-48126S (2S03, 2S07, 2S0A, 2S0D)
LTR-48246S (SS02, SS06, SS08, SS09, SS0A, SS0B, SID1)
LTR-52246S (any of course ;))
Memorex 48MAXXv 2 (SWS3)
Memorex 52MAXX (6WS2, or 6WS3)
Sony CRX210E1 (2YS1, or 2YS2)
Sony CRX215E1 (SYS2)
Sony CRX220E1 (6YS1)
Verbatim 522452AL (68S1)

All of the OEM firmware (Sony etc) are based upon Lite On firmware.

I'd be surprised if Lite On didn't write the firmware for the OEM's as part of the manufacturing contract. Being Lite On makes the drive, it seems logical they write the firmware too.

So, I doubt it matters which one you choose.

Would upgrading to a particular firmware help increase write quality? Like if I upgraded my TDK drive using Lite-On firmware.

Naw, probably not. All of the OEM firmwares are based on older versions of Lite-ON firmware, so they probably aren't as good.
