DMA problem!

Postby oct on Fri Jan 31, 2003 2:21 pm

Yes I have a DMA problem,
now that you guys mention did!!!

In my Win98se PC,
I CAN'T seem to turn on the DMA
for my lite-on 52x CDRW and the DVD drives.

Every time I turn them on in Device Manager, Win98se says to restart, but when I come back,
DMA is still OFF!!!

I mess with the Motherboard (Abit KT7A-RAID) Bios
and it just has a auto/disable selection for DMA...

What should I do ?!?!

The BIOS should be set to "auto".
Also, make sure you have the latest 4-In-1 drivers, too. Then you should be able to turn on DMA. If you still have problems, to updating the BIOS. But that should be a "last resort" kinda thing.

You can get the drivers for your board here:

I've got one of those boards too, sitting in another system. I probably should update the drivers for it too :)

Hope that helps!

Just another suggestion, have you tried looking at the FAQ section?
