Problem burning Princo CD-RW High Speed

Postby damon on Sun Feb 23, 2003 6:48 am

Hello
I have two CD-RWs Princo 4x-12x and try to burn them in my writer Philips 48/12/48. The result is that the CDs are readable in my reader - DVD-ROM but not readable in the whiter! The interesting is that when i burn 700MB avi and try to read it with the writer the avi is played but when I try to copy it to the hard drive it seems that the CD in not readable. In my old DVD-ROM the same CD is readable without problems. I have no problems burning and reading CD-Rs on the CD-RW drive and also no problem with my old BASF CD-RWs 1x-4x. Only with these cheap Princo CD-RW 4x-12x... Is this media incompatibility problem or something else?

I did a test on those Princo's. Even though the package says 4-12x, they only burn at 10x on my 52/24/52 LiteON.

IMHO, they are not reliable media. I've never had an error free burn with them.

I have a Princo 4x-10x rated CD-RW media. Smartburn limit is 12x & it burns fine @ 12x on my 48125S.

Didn't test it on my new 48246S though. I'll test & let you know.

The same situation is here. I also cannot burn them more than 10x but i've tested the CDs in a HP and Mutsumi drives and there was no problem at 12x speed. I think that these media is incompatible with my drive. Tomorrow i'll do some thest with other high speed RW media and will see...

Interesting, I should test them out on my LG 48/24/48/16 combo drive to see if they burn at 12x.
