Overburning!

Hey!

So I just picked up a LG 8481B... Digging the 48x24x48 goodness. I've been playing with overburning in Nero and feel like things are going well. I'd really like to know more about the factors that limit a good overburn (I assume this has to do with meida mostly)... I've taken the time to read this faq:

I am most interested in burning large data files over 800MB (think divx).

Now I am wondering if anyone knows of other faqs that go into more detail about overburning, its limits with equipment that may not be able to read beyond the 80 minute mark, the best media to use, etc, etc...

well i have the lg gce-8320B drive and tried to burn a 770meg file on a cdr-99 media and it kept saying that the media is not big enough!!??
im using nero burning software and all the settings are correct!!
go figure

I've done 860mb DivX without problems.

Apocalypse Now Redux (2 x 860mb). Looks great too.

My guide was meant for audio. I've messed around with data and never had a bad burn yet with the correct media. Slower seems to be better when over 80+ minutes. I have burned successfully & error free @ 16x with a 98 minute audio disc. But why risk it? Go slow.

I have good intentions to make a second page for Data, but I can't seem to find the time to get to it.

just figured out how to overburn data!!!
just use nero express and be sure to set it to DAO and bingo!!
(apperently nero express can overburn/regonize cd90-99-120 cd but will show them as being 700meg cd)
