Where to buy LG drives? (B&M please)

Postby Scrondar on Tue Mar 04, 2003 12:02 pm

I'm in the market for an 8481, but would rather not buy online. Does anyone know where these drives can be bought in stores? I'm in Central Calif., but am willing to travel to No. Calif. Check Frys with no luck. Thanks.

I think Ian mentioned he saw them in Wal-Mart of all places.

Here's the thread I was looking for:

Well, I'll check out my local Wally World, but I'll be surprised if it has anything like computer gear. I may get lucky.....

I've been in three Wal-Marts in my area and noticed that all have the GCE-8520B and the GCC-4480B (48x24x48x/16x) in stock.
My solution to the Plextor vs. Lite-On debate: Buy 'em both! :)

Picked up my LG 8520B today at WalMart. The Samsung 48x24x48/8MB was in stock as well; I may go back for it if the LG disappoints. Thanks to all who replied!
