Lite-On LTR-52246S | Could not perform fixation

Burn baby burn!

Lite-On LTR-52246S | Could not perform fixation

Postby muzicman82 on Tue Mar 25, 2003 5:10 am

I have the lastest version of Nero, I think 5.5.10.15a. I am using 48X Certified Taiyo Yuden CDRs (from Media Supply). I have the drive in an Oxford 911 FireWire Drive Case. I had the latest version of firmware, but a new one was released today so I applied that, and nothiung has changed. I am running Windows XP SP1.

When trying to burn only 36 minutes of WAV audio (or anything really), by drive speeds up to full speed and slows down (or stops), and repeats this for about 2 minutes. Then it will either give me a fill with a "Could not perform fixation error" or it will continue to burn at like 12X or something really slow.

I have tried starting the burn at speeds down to 12X and get the same problem.

I have already disabled all auto-run and Windows XP Burning support.

Whats wrong??

I ran Nero CD Speed Data CD Burn test, and it took 2 minutes to begin burning (as usual), but then the burn started at 18X and maxed out at 24X for the remaining 3/4 of the disc.

Thanx!

I have the LTR-52246S(internal),has your drive always done this or is it a recent problem? You might try connecting the drive internally(non-laptop course)and test again.
