Which CD-R Brand To Buy

Postby omega on Fri Mar 28, 2003 1:27 pm

hello everyone. all this talk about cd-r/w brands got me to think of which is the best and cheapest to buy. Here are two stores carring some nice deals on cd-rs and i was wondering which i should go for. Details are,

MITSUMI:
50 pack 48x cd-r 700mb/80mins
$24.99

CICERO:
20 pack 700mb/80mins (does not say speed)
$11.99

MEMOREX:
30 pack 700mn/80mins (does not say the speed)
$24.99

I have a LG CDRW 8520B. The compatability list doesn't say if these brands are good to use on this drive.Any information is appreciated.

Thank You

Omega, where are you from?

Out of those choices, I would choose Mitsumi. They seem to have the best quality out of the 3. I've never heard of CICERO, so I have no opinion on them. As for the Memorex, if you can get some 48x ones, they are quite good since most of them are being made by ProDisc now.

If I recall correctly, the Mitsumi ones have Postech dye, with this burner, it is limited to 32x or 40x.

I bought some Memorex 48x 50pcs. last week, made by Prodisc but I also saw some Memorex CMC which were no good.
