Cendyne MIR requires registration with them. Giving the serial no etc. Is there any truth in it that they can trace the cd's you burn back to the burner?

I think it's impossible for them to trace a CD you burn back to an exact burner.

Technically feasible, but not something I would worry about. Cendyne isn't interested in being the flunky cops for the RIAA or MPIAA. After all, their business is selling CD-RW drives, which puts them at the opposite end of the spectrum from those who might want to track down who burns what. I suspect Cendyne just wants to verify that you have a valid serial number in an effort to reduce MIR fraud.
