I'm not your 'normal' Canadian.

My retired parents have a winter home in Florida. I ordered online but had it shipped to Florida. They brought them back for me this past spring. Duty Free

I sent www.ncix.com an e-mail with this product suggestion for them. I hope they'll carry them. I sent the e-mail this past Sunday.

www.yesbuy.net has the discs on sale, spindle of 100 for $50 USD (+ shipping and state tax). I figure they'll come to about $100 CDN shipped to Florida again. To Canada- expect to pay about $25 USD for shipping (UPS Ground). $35 - $50 CDN duties. Probably about $170.00 CDN by the time you pay duties. $1.70 each/disc. But that's just a guess.

And I tought that Reagan and Mulroney had signed a free trade agreement... seems that it's only for big corporations who can continue to exploit cheap labor... this happened in my little town, a textile factory was a big job provider here... but the compagny shut down the factory here only to open a new one in Mexico to pay people 7$ a day... alot of my friends are unemployed currently because of this... stupid corporations...

The ten that I ordered came in a padded brown envelope and the discs were in sleeves with binder holes on one of the sides of the sleeves.

I really don't care too much as long as they aren't damaged; I store them in paper envelopes or on another spindle anyways.

Do a search on the CompUSA website---you'll probably find that they are just out of them at your stores. Check 100 miles away and combine it with a visit there. I did here in Central Fl...closest store was near Tampa. No prob ;)

I don't think Spazmogen and aviationwiz have had any problems ordering from www.yesbuy.net, but in case you want a merchant that is certified by a reputable source like BizRate, then take a look at Shop4Tech. I'm just offering choices, people.

I just recieved a new 40x CD-R burner that is capable of burning to 99min disks, but the disks at www.yesbuy.net/ say they are only rated for 8x burning speeds.

www.shop4tech.com says the 90min cd-r's they sell are 24X, but has anyone actually tried burning that fast or faster? I'm looking for some media that I can burn 90-100 min at 40x or at least 32x.

I can't seem to find a good place to buy the media at a resonable price.

For 90 or 99 min. CD's (no matter what brand) it is highly recomended that you burn them at either 4x or 8x.

I HIGHLY doubt NCIX will carry any quality 99min CD-Rs, I know their suppliers and they don't tend to pick up stuff outside a certain niche. I would suggest www.progressmarketing.com, or e-mailing colin@progressmarketing.com. They have the Ritek 99min CD-Rs, which are much better then the Prodisc 90+min CD-Rs, or the Melody 99min CD-Rs, that I've seen.

Futureshop does not have 90 minute or 99 minute discs. Nor does sunnycomputers, or icct.ca.

Canadian strores that DO have them:

Computer Ultra has 90 minute discs.

As You See.com has them.

Computers Canada has them as well.

So where can a red-neck Arkansan like myself find these wonderful 99min CD-Rs? I've tried every retail store and have visited a hundred or so online sellers. Have only found a couple places and the brands don't sound very appealing.

Any suggestions where I can find some for a good price in the US that are of good quality?
