Can not flash LTD-166S

How fast is too fast?

Can not flash LTD-166S

Postby astralissimo on Sun May 25, 2003 11:55 am

I have tried to flash my LTD-166S from DS08 to DS14 and DS18. But the flash utility keeps freezing on me.

Any ideas?

I just use the windows utility and it works fine. You might want to try going to PIO mode, try one of the flash utilities members have cooked up like dual mode winflash. I belive you want to look up Dimitri for the flash stuff. These are just ideas I'm throwing out for ya. Your also sposed to make sure there is no media in the drive before you flash it.

Go to Digi (Dimitri)'s site: http://digi.rpc1.org and get MTK WinFlash and a binary version of DS18.

and in all cases ( using the liteon flash utility or the dimitri software ) CLOSE all other software before flashing ( even antivirus software )

Right!
Please CLICK to read precautions. And I'm not kidding about packet writing software. The only way to close it is to uninstall it!
All the best, dimitri (a.k.a digi, mango)

I've tried pretty much everything, and so far no luck. I'm gonna try to flash the drive under win 98, maybe that's gonna work.

thanks guys

Like I though. I took less than 5 sec to flash the drive under win98.
It seams that there are some real issues in win2k when it comes to firmware upgrade.
