HELP!! IVE GOT A MSI DRAGONWRITER 48X16X48X IN MY K6/2 500 SYSTEM 256MB RAM AND TWO HARD DRIVES A 9GB ON MASTER AND A 4GB ON SLAVE, MY CDRW IS SET AS MASTER SHARING A CABLE WITH MY CDROM AND I AM USIN WIN XP PRO AND THE LATEST VERSION OF NERO
THE PROBLM I AM HAVING THAT NO MATTER WHAT SPEED I SELECT IT SEEMS TO BE NO QUICKER IT TAKES 10 MINUTES TO BURN A FULL AUDIO CD AT 20X - 48X I HAVE TRIED DIFFERENT MEDIA, DISABLING ANTI VIRUS, DIFERENT CACHE SIZES IN NERO EVEN RE INSTALING XP AND USING WIN MILLENIUM PLEASE HELP MY MATE HAS A SIMILA SET UP THAT TAKES 4 MINUTES WHY IS MINE SO SLOW!!

Are you burning from MP3 files or from WAVE files? Your system is almost certainly too slow to burn from MP3 files at faster than 20x, which could be the problem.

Sorry about the capitals!!
I have enabled dma 2 in xp also in my bios settings but it is no quicker still around 10 minutes. im burning from mp3s and the reading of the mp3 is quick just burning is slow.

it's a good idea to use some program, such as Nero InfoTool, to make sure that DMA is indeed enabled (sometimes XP is problematic).

Try burning from wave (*.wav) files. I think your computer is too slow to burn from MP3s at a high speed, but it will burn from wave files at a high speed.
