officemax free kingston pc2100ddr/256 2.5v ram after rebate

Postby weaponmaster on Sun Jun 08, 2003 2:31 pm

I bought a a kvr-pc2100ddr/256 for $39.99 at office max. There are two $20 dollars rebate in the coupon book. One from office max and the other is from kingston.

My problem is I have a crucial technology ddr 2100 512 ram, I hope both of them can use together.

damn, my crucial ddr 512 doesn't work with the kingston ddr 256. The cmos recognized the ram, but windows doesn't want to start.

What is your current computer setup? What motherboard are you using, etc.? If you can, try the Kingston RAM in another PC or by itself in your current PC, without the Crucial RAM installed. If the Kingston does not work by itself, it may not work at all, therefore an RMA is relevant.

I tried the kingston ram alone, and it works fine.
It doesn't work with crucial ram together.

Then buy another stick...or 2... Hopefully you have 3 sockets. Pawn the crucial off on ebay or something.

Some motherboards are picky about RAM, they require identical sticks in all slots (either identical in make/model or size). So, you have a choice, either buy more of the same Kingston sticks or use the single Crucial stick. Either way, sell or use the spare stick in another PC.

OfficeMax just got more of the RAM in. You better quick;ly order or else they'll be sold out again.
