sony 220 e1 to fixed liteon firmware

Postby Gixxerboy on Mon Jun 09, 2003 8:34 pm

Hi all,
I'd like to flash my sony with the liteon firmware that's been altered so as to still show it as a sony drive on boot. I went to http://www.firmware-flash.com/~dhc014/ under the sony firmware link and under the 220 in the table but wasnt positive this is the one because I didn't know the ltr model...Is this the one I want?

Thanks

The firmware that you're looking for can be found here: http://www.sonycrx2xx.org ;)

Hi Dave,
This is the file I downloaded: CRX220_6YS1binary.zip from your site. Did you edit the firmware to show the drive as a sony? I found a page (can't remember where it was) where the person went into detail as to why and how he edited the firmware complete with screenshots of the binary editing, and a pros/cons list as to the benefits of flashing. I hate when that happens!

I linked to that page above. The 6YS1 firmware is just an official, unmodified Sony CRX220E1 binary backup.
