Liteon LTD-166S not completely compatible w/ CloneCD?

How fast is too fast?

Liteon LTD-166S not completely compatible w/ CloneCD?

Postby articulate on Sat Jun 21, 2003 9:43 am

I have a Sony DDU-1612, which as I've read in this forum is really a Liteon LTD-166S.

While making an image w/ CloneCD I suddenly got a report in the log that the drive isn't hardware-compatible w/ a CloneCD feature, I believe it was fast error skip.

Does that mean the LTD-166S is also not 100% CCD-compatible?

It would surprise me, since the Liteon has pretty much been praised here as far as I've read.

I have used it with Clone Cd and it works pretty well. Doesn t remember/noticed if clone cd ( which version ? ) is able to use fast skip error with this drive but this drive is able to handle fast skip error . Remember it is a long time since Clone Cd has not been updated ...
The best copying software is Alcohol 120 ( i advise you to use it ) and you'll not encounter problems . It supports .MDS/.MDF image formats including a lot of image formats ( .CCD format if u love Clone Cd image format though the best are .MDS/MDF for quality and .ISO for compatibility ) .
