Dzień dobry wszystkim (Hello Everyone)

You can read about so called MTBF ( Life of the burner ), e.g.
70,000 (about 8 years) Power On Hours with 25% Duty - that you can find about Liteon drives. LG ia claiming 25,000. What's your experince about that - I mean what is the reality about those numbers. I have also heard sth. like well you can burn only 1,000 discs with this drive, don't buy it. Since I didn't have to trow out any CD-R/RW drive yet I don't know much about it - how about you? Of course I've read about how are you finding out those MTBF numbers but I'm wondering can you trust it and should I choose drives with higher MTBF. As I can see now, drives with best reputation among the community actually have high MTBF.

TIA for any comments
Pozdrawiam, Maciek

Those MTBF numbers are meaningless for the average consumer. They are only applicable if one were going to buy and heavily use a statistically significant number of drives, say 50 or more, for a number years.

For home or small business use, just go with the general reputaion as expressed is this forum.
