Hi

I have a chance of a F1 Yamaha 44x24x44 ide drive which is brand new and is £50 can anyone tell me if this is worth it and is it a good cdrw drive for the price

Great drive, I have one... don't know about the price because I don't know what it retails for in Europe. Seems like a pretty good deal based on US prices.

LOL Im aware of the conversion rate... VAT, other duties and longer supply chain/distribution costs sometimes distorts prices in the European market.

Doing a straight interest rate conversion is sometimes off base.

Yamaha F1 is second only to Plextor, if not equal. Plus, it has the best software bundle: Full-up Nero and Dantz Retrospect (backup and disaster recovery software).

Unfortunately, Yamaha won't be making any more new CDRW drives.
