Network Associates has anounced that on the 4th of July they will give free copies of McAfee SpamKiller to the first 1776 people who reach http://www.mcafee.com.
Also the first 20 customers to visit their local OfficeMax on the Forth can pick up a copy free of charge. Here's some more information on it. http://www.infoworld.com/article/03/06/27/HNmcafeespam_1.html

How can I find out if my local OfficeMax will be one of the 922 OfficeMax retail outlets participating?

Does this software works with web-base email or just POP3?

Thanks for the info David!

When is the 4th of July?

Postby tictok on Mon Jun 30, 2003 11:06 am

:P
As Homer would say "Quick, operator give me the number for 911"

seriously -- what time zone is midnite for this offer? Network Associates has its HQ in Santa Clara, CA -- so are we talking PDT (GMT-7)? Or July 4th at the International Dateline? Or July 4th in Philadephia (GMT-4) ??

I just got it (but I had to stay up until 3:00 am EDT/12:00 midnight PDT in order to download the software).

One caveat: You must use at least version 4 of Internet Explorer to download it. :)

David: Thank you for posting this information. :)
My solution to the Plextor vs. Lite-On debate: Buy 'em both! :)
