Thought I'd put it in here so maybe the Ahead guys won't move on this as quickly.

It's from T-Online so its probably been given the OK by Ahead.

Here's the original article:

Nero 6 Backup

Postby Rich on Sat Jul 12, 2003 4:07 am

Hi Ian,

I see Nero 6 comes with a backup ability.

Will it backup a Windows XP system partition?

Can you check and see?

If so it's value just went up.

Thankx

How is he supposed to know? Read the preview @ www.cdfreaks.com or wait until Friday when there are probably going to be a few reviews out there.

If you're really curious, there are copies of it already circulating on file sharing networks, not that I condone or endorse those kinds of actions.

Thanks,

I saw that already but it is vague by showing an XP partition as one of the ones it will do.

If it will in fact do that this package could replace norton ghost in the process.

Norton Ghost also works from DOS environment. I'm not sure that Nero would be able to do that.

I just posted the question at Ahead. We'll see what they say.

I have ghost 2001 I think it is and hate the upgrade cost. Should be 20 bucks like the old days.

If you want a good backup solution... I'd recommend Powerquest Drive Image or Acronis True Image over Ghost 2003. Though with 2003, they have done a much better job.

I remember reading a lot about Powerquest Drive Image last year but never bought it. I'm not familiar at all with Acronis True Image. In what ways are they better?

Thanks for the info,

Rich

HI,

I just went and read a bunch and at the Acronis website I found a VERY special offer.

For a limited time, for Ghost users you can buy a special edition of Acronis's True Image for only $9.99! The only restriction to this version is that you have Ghost installed on your system. It is has all of the features of the full version of True Image.

Use the link below and follow the instructions.

It asks you to put your name, email, and upc code off of your Ghost box.

I didn't have my box and sent a note to the address given at the bottom of the page: info@acronis.com and told them that I did have the CD and I gave them the number on the CD. This was 1:25 pm Hawaii time, (7:25 EST) and 3 minutes later they sent me a code to use.

A few minutes later with having given credit card info I was done and sent a link to download it

Right now I'm 66% of the way downloading it.

here again is the link to the offer:
