new google toolbar 2.0 stops pop-ups

toolbar.google.com

A very small download, and stops most pop-ups in Win2K, and nearly all in XP.

Plus some very nifty highlighting and searching options.

Personally, I can't stand toolbars in my IE.

For blocking ads, I use Ad Subtract Pro

I think it works great.

You guys need to realize that you're not only blocking ads, but taking away most websites' revenue... including ours.

Sorry Ian. I allow pop-ups on a per website basis. So when I visit CDRlabs, I'll let the pop-ups come up.

On other websites where they use self-spawning pop-ups, this tool will be great.

True but pop-ups are annoying and I always visit advertisers sites that are linked to CDRLabs.com.

all ad revenue goes straight into hosting costs, believe it or not. I donate my time to the website... I've never been paid a dime.

Not all of it goes into hosting costs. A good sum of it also goes towards supplies (blank media, etc). But yeah, it's not like we're paying off BMW's with our ad money.

Essentially, the ad revenue keeps us going. No ads.. no website.. 'nuff said.
