Where is a good place to buy DVD-R blank disks?

Postby panicinyearzero on Thu Jul 10, 2003 7:27 pm

Hi, I'm hoping some of you out there have a good source or two for buying decent quality DVD-R blank disks, preferrably 4x speed, at a reasonable price. I tried some searches, but so many results came up, I don't know where to buy. Thanks for any suggestions.

Both of these stores have low prices and great selection. I have ordered from both of them before and I was very pleased with their service.

Look at Reseller Ratings, they have people rate stores. That should help you figure out if they are a good site.

I'm wondering the same thing. I bought some bulk riteks off ebay several months ago and am about to run out. They were available for way less than $1/disk back then. For all the news about how manufacturers were gonna ramp up production leading to price decreases, I don't see prices falling much. In fact, they have gone up on riteks.

Thanks for the assist. Always better to order from tried and true than unknown. :D

fng - I was in the same boat as you, I was able to get a 100 pack of 2X Ritek G03 media from allmediaoutlet.com for $90 shipped back in February. Now that I'm running out of that media, I went ahead and ordered the 4X G04 Ritek media from allmediaoutlet because the price of the 2X wasn't proportionately lower than the 4X media ($132 for the 2X vs. $145 for the 4X media).

Of course, if the 2X Ritek media could have been had for less than $1 a blank, I would have gone with it again 8)

Best Buy is currently having a deal on Fuji dvd-r's, 40% off selected types, through 7/19. The store near me had 50 pk spindle for 67.99 at the register plus $8 rebate, making the total $59.99 after rebate. I picked up a package since I have a best buy gift card I'm trying to use up. When I ran dvd info on them, they turned out to be ritek g03's. I didn't know ritek oem'd fujis, but I was pleasantly surprised. Although this isn't as good a deal as the 100 pk g04's mail order, this was a better deal for me because of the gift card.

Does anyone know where the Fuji branded Ritek's are manufactured? All the Fuji DVD-R media at my local Best Buy says "Made In Tawain" so I assumed they weren't Ritek's.

Ritek is a Taiwanese company. Hope that answers your question. :)
