Postby johnstad on Mon Jul 21, 2003 3:02 am

With Nero 6 UE....

Having challenges getting cddb information downloaded when I am creating cds. All of the addresses are configured properly and it comes back telling me that it is a network error.

This error did not occur when I had the latest of the 5.5 series....any suggestions for how I can fix this or is this a nero issue?

Thanks-

John

Or go to Best Buy in Eau Claire, WI and buy it off the shelf. I saw it yesterday.

It's available.

It's been available in most major electronics stores for the last week and a half across the US. Probably not necessary to drive to WI.

bhairavp seemed to be implying that no one should legally have it yet because "it's not out yet". The part about driving to WI is that if we've got it, everyone has it.

Do you have a legit copy?

Do you have a software firewall like zonealarm?

Postby johnstad on Mon Jul 21, 2003 6:32 pm

Yes I do have a legit copy. Bought it at Bestbuy last week.

I do use zonealarm. It (v5.5) worked with zonealarm before....but now v6 does not.

Thanks in advance.

Yoinks. Sorry about the misunderstanding. Here, it isn't available for love or money anyways. Try uninstalling ZoneAlarm? Sometimes, it causes more trouble than it is worth.

John if you blocked Nero from calling out to the net, that's why CD lookup isn't working.

blocking nero

Postby johnstad on Tue Jul 22, 2003 11:00 am

tazdevl-

Thanks for your follow up. I have set nero to have access within zone alarm. This is an odd occurance because I did not have to set anything specific within zone alarm for v5.5.

So it's working?

Probably because it didn't automatically call out or was not directly tied into Nero itself.

Next time when you try to connect and it says Network error, eject the CD you are trying to copy or extract audio from, and then reinsert it and after it spins up try again.

I've seen this symptom on one of my systems I tested on after reading your post. And this resolved the issue for me. ( Only happened with one out of 7 systems.

Regards,

Craig
