Does this drive support recording of more than 4.7 GB (double layer, double side and etc) ?

Not on a single disc. You can do it by burning on a second disc... But you can do that with anyother drive so....

For what I know there is no drive on the market thatrecords more than 4.75 gb on a single disc. If you want to copy a DVD movie that you own, all you need to do is remove the extras features and that should be it...

no.
no consumer PC DVD burner can burn more than 4.7GB.
there are no "double-layer" recordable DVDs.

double sided discs - yes, but you have to flip them over manually...no different from 2 "regular" single sided discs.

Sorry, but for me double sided discs are the same as 2 discs... You need to flip them anyway so it's like a second disk...
