Ok, so PS2 games are like PS1 games, well at list the way to copy them… Of course that PS2 games are more complete and so on …..
When you copy a recent PS1 game you need to patch it otherwise the game wont work. Because when you make the image from the CD, there’s a little program that will prevent the game from working when you burn it to the CD. The way to bypass this protection is to get a patch, run it over the image file and then burn it.
PS2 games work like this (simplifying things…). First you need to check if the game has any protection. I used to use copyprotection but that was long ago and I haven’t made a ”backup” from my ORIGINAL games in a while now… After you know what kind of protection the games has you need to get the correct patch.. For this I use gamescopyworld (also, there’s a tutorial how to backup your original games there). Then you would run the patch over the iso file (image file) and then you could burn with what program you want. I used to use either Nero or CDr-Win but haven’t done that for a while… Maybe things are changed (a really don’t think so) but in a simple matter this is the way to do it…

doesn't the magic 3.6 and dmsv3 already take care of this problem?…
I don’t think so… They don’t deal with DVD protection but PS protections… for instance they bypass the CD read info (the code that reports to the PS2 chip ifit should play the cd or not), introducing a code “forces” the PS2 chip to read it…
The latest version of magic also enables automatically PAL/NTSC option and a lot more things… I have several links at home, if you want I can post them for you to check out… hope they still work….
Good Luck!!!
