Actually, they point to slightly different IP's. What I want to know is some of the other tests :P

There is a test3 also which requires a username and password so I'm leaving it well enough alone.

There are also several other test sites.

Right now I'm on the test3 server. J/K.

When you go there, in XP at least, when it asks for your log-in info. It says:

CDRLabs Statistics

Anyone know what that might be?

Socheat can explain it better than me, but essentially he has a proxy running that balances the traffic between two IP's. Right now both IP's go to the same server, but if need be we could split the traffice between 2 or more hosts.

Yeah, test3 takes you to the stats page. That's for admins only though.

That's basically it. It does some other useful stuff too, but I won't bore you with the details. Pay no attention to the men behind the curtain...

It's actually a scheme to double the advertising revenue . For a while, if I went to the forum via cdrlabs main page, I ended up on test2... but clicking on my bookmark for the forum took me to www.... So I ended up with 2 popunder ads, not 1.

Hope you don't activate test4, test5, test6 etc. for the active forums to jack up the ads even more.

Oh shush. You know that's not true.

Just be glad we don't sell your information like some websites do. Now that is evil.

That's what you get for snooping around! Now we made 2 pennies instead of 1. :D

That wasn't the intended purpose, hopefully it still isn't happening. I've turned off pop-ups in my browser, so I haven't noticed any problems.
