Hey Guys,

I know many of you haven't seen me around lately and maybe pondered if I was still alive or not.
I would just like to let you guys know that I'm alive still and doing well. I've just been really busy with work and also hang around a shoe forum with all my free time. I recently got promoted to admin at Instyleshoes.com's forum, so that has taken up a lot of time too. I don't really come back here much, except to see what the people still post around here. I feel that if I can't contribute in a positive way, I won't be posting. I'll still come around once in awhile, but not as much as before.

I'm working as an engineering intern for the city of chino hills. I work with the civil engineers that handle the city's streets, traffic signals, water and sewer system, building plans, and etc. I've also gone out a few times with the city's building inspectors to check on people's building projects to make sure they are up to city code. I'm currently working on two big projects. One is to organize the city's entire collection of building plans and aerial photos, so they are easier to find. We are also going to have an outside contractor come and scan all the city's building plans so they can be viewed from the city's network. I will also have to help make a database for all that. The second project I'm helping on involves expanding the city's reclaimed water system. I work a 9 hour day from 7:30 to 5:30, but get every Friday off. Lots of work and long hours, but the pay help makes up for that. :P

Here's my very first pay check ever.

BTW, I'm thinking of using some of my hard earned money to either get a DVD Burner or a 17/18" LCD screen for my Birthday when it comes around in December. :D

cfitz & F1pilot, I miss talking with you guys.

Hi BuddhaTB! Long time no see. But don't worry. You weren't forgotten. :D I knew you had some other interests, and figured you were busy pursuing them. Still, it is good to hear from you. You really have been busy.

So was, your first paycheck a shock? I'm particularly thinking about how much Uncle Sam and all his cousins take away from it. I can remember getting my first paycheck, with high hopes for what I could do with it, and then the disbelief after I pulled it from its envelope. "What?!? Hey, there is something wrong here! Where is the rest of my pay??" :(

I'm not sure which would be a nicer way to spend that hard-earned cash. A new LCD monitor sure would be nice, but then again your existing monitor does do the job, if not with as much panache, and no amount of pleading will get your CD burner to burn a DVD... :)

Take care,

My mom told me to expect about 60% back from my paycheck, so I was pretty much informed ahead of time. I didn't open up my paycheck until I got home that day. But I was actually surprised that I got back more money than I had anticipated. So that was a sigh of relief. I'm trying really hard to save up some money, but I had to treat myself to some shoes first. :D Since I only work 72 hours over two weeks, my paychecks should be about the same as my first paycheck. I was just really happy when I finally got that paycheck in. I still have to treat my family to dinner one of these days. Too bad I can't buy you guys some drinks either.

I'm leaning more on a LCD monitor since I do spend a lot of time on the computer. I don't use my CD Burner as much now, so I'm not really too sure what I would do with a DVD burner. Maybe by the time December comes around, I can afford both if prices continue to drop. I'll be back when the time comes to ask around for advice.

It was really nice talking to you cfitz! You take care now and I'll talk with you soon. I still gotta get you some pics I promised.

Wow BuddhaTB. I had no idea that there were so many things to learn about sport shoes!!

I just buy what ever is on sale, and wear them until the shoes are worn out.

You should go work for an auction house as an appraiser! Your expertise on shoes is amazing!

Nice Air Max's. I'm not a fan of the new Jordan's, but those are nice.

btw.. you have the new Jordan's (XVIII?) on order? I saw they ship on 8/9/03.

Those Jordans are priced too high for me right now. When they drop down to $99 eventually, I may pickup a pair. Like you said, these Jordan XVIII's don't look as good. I'm still trying to pick up the white/blue colorway for cheap. There are some Jordans I wouldn't think twice about dropping $200 on. It's all a hobby, just like fixing up an old car or collecting baseball cards.

I'll be showing you guys an updated pic of my collection next weekend. I'm fairly certain all my shoes will be here by then. :P

For those of you who can read German, here's a website that did a profile on me. I know the other collectors personally and we're all really good friends.

Cool profile! Thanks for the links.

:o Wow! I thought you had a lot of shoes... but compared to some of those other Sneaker Pimps, particularly Jason, you've hardly even started.

Now, is that an air-purifier/humidifier or a rice-cooker next to your bed? I can't figure out whether you are promoting cleaner air and healthier breathing or preparing for a midnight snack!

I like the AM95 Euros and, err, umm, the Cali es Cali shot is not bad either... :D

Not yet. I don't really like them much, as they look like clown shoes to me.

Looks like someone else who knows their shoes. Come join the best sneaker board on the net.

Thanks for the offer to one who knows their footwear, BuddhaTB, but I'll stay here for a bit longer.

Now, here is something that you can really get your feet into.

Looking down to see you next time bye, BuddhaTB!
