I saw this deal over at the AT forum. I've never ordered from this place so buyer beware:

I just ordered Mine...

Postby dpippin on Fri Aug 22, 2003 10:50 pm

I just ordered my copy of Nero 6 from the site. Shipping was $5.95 for UPS ground and $7.05 for 3 UPS 3 day. It seems to be a flat rate on the shipping and the company is out of Santa Ana, CA. Even for $16 dollars I couldn't pass this up, Nero 6 works with the Optorite DVD burner and the Tatoo feature on the Yamaha F1  . Thanks!!

To quote SuperDave: "Holy Sh..."

That place is about 7 mi right down an E-W main arterial that goes right by my place. (It's like I'm goin' to Frxw'z, but keep goin' straight instead of a left about half way there.) If they did walk-ins and were open today, I'd be outta' here!

Great deal, but one question. Since this is an OEM version will it be limited to a specific drive manufacturer?

AFAIK, OEMs should work with all drives. It is the versions that are bundled with the drives that are restricted to that drive only.

Thanks CowboySlim. I was just curious because that site says this about their OEM software:

"This product was originally sold with hardware. It is brand new and never opened. It may ship with a small piece of hardware such as a microphone. The product comes in a jewel case without the cover, CD only in a sleeve, or in a jewel case with the manual."

Yes, I read that also. It's tough to infer exactly what the mean by hardware other than the specified microphone. I hope that hardware doesn't mean a drive, because then in may be a bundled version.

In the context of Window's OSs, OEM must be sold with hardware such as MBs, CPUs, HDDs.

I've seen OEM versions of Nero (5.5) sold at the travelling LA Computer Fair for $10.

I found other sites selling it for around $15.00 so I decided to try it and placed an order yesterday. They only had 9 reviews on resellerratings.com but they were OK. I figure that if I have problems, you live right down the road and .....
