Because it was leaked. It's now Official. It's on the newly redone Liteonit.com website.

Did anyone test the new firmware QS09?

I have the following discs for my burner:

Manufacturer : Ritek
Code : 97m15s17f
Disc Type : CD-R
Usage : General
Recording Layer : Dye Type 7: Short Strategy (Phthalocyanine)
Recording Speed : n/a
Capacity : 79:59.70
703 MB
Additional Capacity : n/a
Overburn Capacity : not tested

These cd-r discs are sold by Philips as CD-R 80 and are rated as 48x.

With the previous firmware QS08 I was able to burn these discs at
52x, but with the new current firmware I still burn these discs at 52,
but at the position where 48x speed is reached there is a slowdown
while reading the already finished cd (ScanDisc and CD Quality Test in
Nero).

While the slowdown occurs a yellow sector (damaged) appears.

Can the new firmware be responsible for these (negative) changes?

I burned 2 discs in Nero CD/DVD Speed with the option Create Data CD,
without any overburn setting.

Is it better to update to a new firmware or does the update also cause
negative side-effects regarding the quality (C2 errors) ?

This problem is probably caused by the new firmware, SPaulovic. It is usually better to upgrade to new versions of the firmware, but occasionally a new firmware version will cause trouble.

But isn't there a possibility to change the firmwares of the LiteON 52327S
from QS09 to QS08 and vice versa.

Because if this is the case then it is possible to figure out the best
firmware.

Yes, you can change your firmware to an older version. One way to do this is to use FlashFix to allow the QS08 firmware updater to "downgrade" your firmware to QS08, if you wish.

Edit: This should work on other versions of the firmware, too, not just QS08.

If i upgrade to version QS09 would i be able switch back to QS08 with the standard EXE flasher (QS08.exe)?

The old LTR52246S prevented such downgrade with Firmware version 6S0F.

Just like the 52246S, the flasher won't automatically be able to "downgrade" the firmware. However, the FlashFix program I mentioned above should allow you to easily downgrade your firmware. All you need to downgrade is the standard EXE flasher and the FlashFix program.
