Fuji 100-pk $9.99 w/MIR @ Best Buy --- MADE IN TAIWAN!!!

Postby airtommy on Tue Aug 12, 2003 8:33 pm

Best Buy has a 100-pack of Fujifilm 48X CD-Rs for $24.99 - $15 MIR = $9.99. Click here for details.

However, at my local Best Buy in Atlanta, it was a 100-pack spindle, not two bundled 50-packs. Most importantly, they are Made in Taiwan, as opposed to Japan like most Fujifilm CD-Rs. They are trying to determine if they are made by TY in this forum: http://www.cdrlabs.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=12091

So then take a disk, put it in your drive, and tell us who it's made by.

Good. I was afraid they were going to use CMC or Ritek discs. Prodisc media has served me well.

I am thinking of returning these prodisc made ones. should I?

the ritek blue cyanide disc seem to be good quality, what is your experience with them?

The quality of Ritek and CMC discs vary a lot. I've had some very good batches and then others have been absolute crap. Same brand keep in mind.

If you're going to return them for a pack of TY discs, that's probably a smart move. IMO Prodisc isn't as good as TY yet.

I thought it was the blue discs made with cyanine which where superior to the green phylocyanide. I have found in cheap 700mb labeled 50pack spindles like the free after rebate ones from officemax that some discs are 650mb and not 700mb.

so does the color indicate quality?

Thanks for the info!!! I hope this is only a one time situation. I'll miss buying Fuji TY's if it's not...
