I'm a little dissapointed at this release. It says it lets you easily save the image from Q-Check. It only puts the stats on a piece of paper. Not the graph.

Does this install on non-Plextor systems?

Postby XIII on Tue Sep 02, 2003 12:17 pm

Hi,

I used to own a Plextor drive and installed the PlexTools. However I was so stupid to break that drive and now own a LiteOn. I can still update and run the PlexTools. Is it also possible to (re)install this SW if no Plextor drive is detected? I'd rather not try by deinstalling it...

Reason I ask is that the CDRinfo tool no longer works because it cannot detect a Plextor driver. Fortunately that's no problem because of the MInfo tool from Karr/LiteOn.

XIII,

PlexTools is custom designed to work with Plextor drives and won't work properly with other burners. You may be able to reinstall the software without a Plextor drive installed, but there is no good reason to have PlexTools loaded without a Plextor drive. I don't know why you would want to reinstall it without a Plextor, but if you feel this is important make a backup first in case the reinstallation looks for a Plextor drive.

I would uninstall PlexTools until I got another Plextor.
