More importantly.. has anyone tried the new version of InCD 4? Any better?

Hmmm. . . can't update the virus scanner. Getting a "Could not retrieve DRW43004.txt! File does not exist on remote FTP server" error. I'm assuming that file's on the way? I guess sacrifices had to be made to bring us this update. :roll:

Maybe you should check to see if Japanese characters have also been accidentally inserted into the code for InCD 4. :-?

If so, this might explain some of the bugs. :lol: :lol: :lol:

A developer-log file, yes. But it is not publishable for political reason (eg. we shall not mention particular device models, etc.). I'm pushing people responsible of the website to put the release notes online.

This is an un-official preview (the text is not from me):

Changes from InCD 4.0.1.0 to 4.0.1.7

Bug Fixes

* Solved a problem which occurred due to loading InCD while drive was not ready

* A problem with incorrect remaining space after format was solved

* After erase the program window hangs and the shell extensions were corrupted is solved

* Solved a problem under Windows XP, InCD allowed to format a CD-R

* Improvement of showing the correct icon in the InCD tab

* A problem with a blue-screen during reboot after MRW format under Windows 2k is resolved

* Able to eject a CD-RW media with software eject, if this media was recognized as CD-ROM by recorder

* Solved a compatibility problem of InCD4 and Windows Media player 7

* After resuming from hibernate or standby mode write is not failing anymore

* Firewire devices under Windows 9x/ME are now recognized by InCD

* Solved a problem under Windows 9x/ME, after formatting a blank media disc was getting dismounted

* The problem rebooting after erase is now solved

* Solved a problem with legacy full format on some devices

* Solved a problem which occurs during booting of Win 95b

* Missing drive letter in format dialog was fixed

* Solved a problem which occurred on some drives due to playing audio CDs

* Legacy InCD 4 discs are now compatible with W2k/XP native UDF

* Message "will eject soon" does not remove itself after eject, is solved in this version

* After resume from standby a volume is not locked anymore

* Solved a problem with Nero burnt UDF CD-RWs which were mounted by InCD

* A write failure issue was solved that occurred after resuming from hibernate or standby mode

* Solved a problem which occurred on multi-session CD-RW, only the first session was mounted

* Improvement of the efficiency

* Fixed a problem of format fails with verify option enabled

* Hardware removal on a notebook slim-drive rejected if InCD is running is solved

* Log files are now working properly

Changes from InCD 4.0.1.21 to 4.0.5.3

Bug Fixes

* Improvement of the GUI stability

* Solved a problem which occurred while InCD was trying to mount audio track media

* A problem which occurred during writing to media and going to standby mode is solved.

* Solved a problem with Nero burnt UDF discs, they were mounted by InCD (again)

* Solved a problem with InCD and chkdsc could cause a bluescreen

* Solved a problem with InCD and chkdsc could cause a bluescreen

* Solved a problem that leads sometimes Windows explorer to hang

* InCD is no more crashing on hardware eject

* Solved a problem with label name was not changing and old content was still viewable before tray-in tray-out

* Correct label is showing in InCD dialog windows when the tray of the drive is out

* A problem which occurred due to interrupting background format by pressing eject button is solved

* Autorun now works under Win2k if blank media is inserted

* A mount problem after loading tray by pressing eject button is solved

Thanks David. It looks like its time to try InCD 4 again and see if I can start using it for benchmarking again.

I copied a few files and my favorite date bug may finally have been fixed.

I'll have to find something else about which to complain.
