Has anyone seen the new HP CDRs?

Postby jjones on Thu Sep 04, 2003 1:29 am

I just saw an ad for HP 48x 700MB CDR's on a BJ's Wholesale Club circular.

The last time I bought HP CDRs about a year ago, they were rated 16x but were TY. I am hoping to find the "Made in Japan" label on these new ones, but was wondering if anyone has seen them on the shelves lately.

And the packaging looks eerily similar to that of CMC.

I can almost certainly guarentee that they are made by CMC. In my last job, one of our main CD-R suppliers was www.mobiltech.net and they ONLY ever brought in CMC media. Now I see that they are importing massive amounts of HP 48x CD-Rs, so I have difficulty believing that they would ave switched to a different manufacturer after many years of using CMC media only. I may know more later though, since I plan to re-initialize my contact with them
