oem vs. retail

hello everyone. I'm thinking about purchasing the retail version of nero xpress 5. I already have the oem that came with the LT52327s drive however, the nero player has expiration. if i purchase the retail version will the nero player expire on them also?. Will the retail version that im thinking about buying be used with the drive that i bought? Im reading the top of oem that came w/ the drive and it says "the software will only work with the drive it bundled with". I guess basically what im asking is..what are the advantage of having the retail version as suppose to the oem. BTW, already read the help section on nero about oem vs. retail and they dont really tell much. so i was wondering maybe people that have full version could explain to me a lil bit more in detail. sorry for being such a nuisance. I just wanna get the right stuff rather than going through the headaches of returning stuff. thanks guys.

If you buy retail version you can use Nero on any writer and make unlimited MP3.

hey burnin thanks for the quick response. which media player is the most compatible with nero. also. with the full version do i get the nero burning rom. i believe it doesnt come w/ the oem version. nero media player that i have expires at the end of sept. so i guess i have to use a different media player if i decide not to buy it. what is the difference between the nero burning rom and the ahead nero burning rom?

I don't know which media is the most compatible with Nero, but I've had good experiences with Windows Media Player 7 (for my Win98 systems) and Windows Media Player 9 (for my WinXP systems).

I would be surprised if you didn't get Nero - Burning ROM when you buy the upgrade. As far as I know, there is no such thing as a retail version of Nero Express. Also, there is no difference between Nero - Burning ROM and Ahead Nero - Burning ROM. My guess is that different versions of the install program just report their names differently.
