I bought a 256Mb Compact Flash Card from Amazon @ $35 AMIR for my camera. We're going up to Utah, at the invitation of a local ranch family, to photograph their cattle drive.

Later Buckaroos,

Wow, nice deal. I remember on this past Black Friday I got a 256MB CF card for $50 with No MIR's. Loved that deal.

No, cfitz, it was the Viking card. Maybe over, I may be out $10, but still a decent deal rather than a steal.

Flyer in the Sun, 12 paper said good until the 20th. I checked on the website and thought that I saw 30th. But now, looking at the rebate form it says 20th.

Be right back.

Ok, cfitz, I'm out of breath dashing around, but I'm Ok. I printed out the wrong rebate form, $10 rebate ending 9/20.

It is really $45 -$15 MIR ending 9/30, so it's $30.

Unbelievable, I just went back to get the link for you and now it is $65. I swear it was $45 when I printed out the correct rebate form 15 minutes ago.

Go for SimpleTech, I've got one of those too.

Thanks for the doing the legwork, Slim.

The Viking was $65 when I looked, too. (They also list one for $55 after MIR, with a different model number although the specs look the same).

I also own a Simple Tech 256 MB and it has given me no trouble, so I might just go for another at $35. I'm also thinking about a Kingston, which I can get for $40 after rebate, with no shipping. That is $5 more than the Simple Tech, but I would have to buy something else with it to get the free shipping at Amazon, so in the end the prices might be about the same. Do you have any thoughts on Kingston?

Yes, I do, cfitz,

I buy nothing but Kingston or Crucial for SDRAM, I'm assuming that their flash cards are top quality also. "............fingers that touch K-byte (PNY, etc.) shall never touch mine."

Checked the flyers for all the big boxes just now, nothing better than the Amazon deal on SimpleTech or the Kingston that you found.

I bought some diamond earings for my wife's birthday and a new hat for myself. :D

Quite an unusual experience, I might say. They don't give REBATES with that stuff.

But better than rebates, you get to see the twinkle in your wife's eyes when she opens her present and puts on her new earings. :D
