Both were anounced in quick succesion. Basically 4.3.1.7 is a responce to people complaing about the too strick update policy. It was expanded in 4.3.1.7.

where did you get this from?
the download page http://www.slysoft.com/en/download.html says exactly the same as it did when it was version 4.3.1.6 - one year.
in the history page http://www.slysoft.com/download/changes_clonecd.txt they say
- The "free update period" for Elaborate Bytes customers was a little tight, we are sorry about that!
- Extended free updated period for Elaborate Bytes customers
not very informative!

I didn't even get a free period.

It immediatly said my serial was out of date. The software would just shut down.

I actually installed 3.3.4.0 again just for fun. I kind of like the look and feel of the old version.
