i just purchased 4 Cendyne (Samsung) 16x dvd roms for $9.00 each from OFFICEMAX Pittsburgh, PA AREA and they also had PACIFIC DIGITAL 16X DVD ROMS FOR $19.99 NO REBATE FOR BOTH CENDYNE AND PACIFIC DIGITAL
NEC 2500A $20 10/04
NEC 3500AG for $47 4/05
NEC 3540 for $35 9/05
BENQ 1620 for $36 9//05

I got a $20 drive from OfficeMax today..Pacific Digital..not bad :)

The pacific digital's are sony's which could be rebaged Lite-on or BTC.
Personaly got two cendynes which were Samsung SD-161 which I'm going to flash with patched region free firmware.

Well, considering CenDyne went under, I'm pretty sure OfficeMax is just clearing out their stock. :) Not sure about Pacific Digital though.

Nice deal, but since some people are buying multiple drives, there is nothing left in the stores.
In addition, employees, as usual, put some aside for themselves and/or their friends.
I am NOT complaining, just stating the facts :)

The two local OM stores were both out of stock when I called on Monday around noon.

For me that's a good thing. I don't need more DVD-Roms, especially since they can't play DVD+R's...
