Will a new 48x burner work on a P2 266 96 MB RAM?

Just wondering, this 16x is not fast enough for my needs.

A 48x burner should work on that PC, although it probably won't actually be able to burn at 48x. It should be able to go higher than 16x, though. 24x or possibly 32x is probably about the best you could get on that machine.
