sold out...

Postby coadman on Tue Dec 16, 2003 7:17 pm

Since the online store is "sold out" and the two local stores I called are "sold out" also, will Best Buy issue a "rain check" voucher for this item?
thanks,

I doubt that they will issue a raincheck. Plus, the rebate is only good for this week.

Hey, good news for me, anyway...

Postby coadman on Tue Dec 16, 2003 10:00 pm

I didnt believe the website when it listed "none" at my nearest Best Buy, so I made the phone call to the store itself. Came to find out they have 2 left, so they are holding one for me until I can pick it up, tomorrow. I have to drive 50 miles, but I'm saving $50.
thanks,
CF

Wait til next year. I'm sure prices will continue to come down in a few weeks.

My local store showed none in stock, but when I got there they had at least a dozen. My BB has an area where they put stuff to restock on the shelves, it can pay to know where this area is..I have seen things on sale, where the shelf is empty, but they have a ton in the overflow area.
Also, if you use the search function to find a store, it is case sensitive to the city name. Wondered why I couldn't find any stores in 'chicago'.

411S or 451S?

Postby Cerebus Jam on Wed Dec 17, 2003 6:11 pm

Be careful. The drive I received at Best Buy was not a 411S, but a 451S - and I don't know if it's as good as the 411S with firmware update.

The 451S is the newer version of the 411S. This is what they are manufacturing now. Not sure of the differences from the 411S if any.

Nobody seems to know for sure. Here's a link

I did a Google search, but most of the results came back in foreign languages.
