$1029 isn't a very good deal! Even though that thing is fast as hell, and I'd just about kill for one...
Soon to be proud user of Mandrake 10 (again!). SuSE 9 sucks!

Looks like zipzoomfly and newegg are competing against each other by raising and lower prices on this CPU everyday. :)

You can get an complete desktop for that price probably

For 1,000 you can get a complete desktop, if not 3.2, certainly a 2.8 or maybe even 3.0 with 800 FSB.

I don't know where your looking. But a 3.0 at Dell would be more than $2,000.

You can easily build one yourself for under $1,000...either a P4 2.8 or 3.0.

Funn thing, it was 975 last week at Newegg when I looked at it. This one must be better since it's suddenly 50 bucks more.
