Help With RecordNow 6.0 by Vertias

Postby BuddhaTB on Tue Dec 23, 2003 3:01 am

My friend has a Compaq Presario S5100NX and is having problems burning a CD. Computer specs can be found here. When she tries burning a CD, she keeps getting an error message of try again whenever she clicks on the record now button. She's called compaq/HP tech support and the person told her that her drive requires CD+R discs. Obviously, there is no such thing and the tech person is of no help.

Does anyone know of any possible solutions? I would recommend her to download a demo version of Nero to see if that works with her buner. But she's on dial-up, so the demo would take forever to download. I still can't figure out what could be wrong.

Do you know what burner and firmware version she has? Would it be possible for you to burn her a copy of the Nero demo and send/take it to her?

Uninstall all other burn software and reinstall RecordNow.

If uninstall - reinstall doesn't work, then the next best choice is to try Nero or any other burn app. Testing Nero (or other app) should take the confusion out of the problem and will give you a clear idea where exactly the problem lies.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier. If she's using Windows XP, she can use the native burning capabilities built into XP. That may work where as RecordNow failed.

Yes, it'll be interesting to see the XP built-in burn software works.
