I/O Magic 4x DVD +/- R burner at TigerDirect

Postby dbeko on Tue Jan 06, 2004 12:29 am

TigerDirect has this burner for $99.99 after a $20 mail-in rebate. The specs look good but does anyone know who makes this drive? Someone wants to buy me a DVD burner as a late Christmas present. I don't want that person to spend lots of $$$ on one so this price is good but is the quality? Thanks.

Thank you. If this is an Optorite 0203, then TigerDirect is selling that one for $109.99 vs $99.99 for the I/O Magic-branded one. :-) From the Optorite web-site, the specifications look good. Do you have experience or hearsay about the Optorite brand name? Thanks again.

I just wanted to post a quick "thank you again" message as I purchased this one from PcSupply Source and got it within 4 or 5 business days. It's happily installed in a WinXP Home box and burns very nicely. I haven't purchased any +R blanks yet (my other DVD burner is a 2x -R) but the -R discs that I've burned have been flawless.

Thanks again for the recommendation and link.
