They now have some 800 HP crate engines for racing too.

You know, with the economy still in the toilet, who exactly are they going to sell these cars to? It's not like there are that many dot com millionaires running around these days.

At those kind of prices there are always people that can affoed them and WILL buy them. They are technology demos and prestige cars for the respective companys so they make a few and get good press and sell a few too boot. Did you see the show on TLC the other night on the Cobra too, it was great. Carol Shelby, at 81, had a big smile and was cutting cookies in one :)

The Cobra isn't a concept car. According to the article, its Ford's third car in their "Trilogy" or something:

1. Mustang GT
2. GT-40
3. Cobra

Well the Dodge Charger is a concept till they actually make it, we have been waiting in the Mopar camp for a while on that one.
Same with the Cobra, it's a concept/prototype and it will be interesting to see what it is like and when it's released. Ford is going to clean up with the new Mustang, I hope Mercedes/chrysler learns something from that :)

I saw the documentary on A&E. Codename "Daisy" LOL!

It was great seeing Carroll Shelby and the various Cobras.

This car is ready to go b/c Ford built it to be road ready. Not just a shell of a car like many other showcars.

Apparently the V-10 is pretty bulletproof.

The article says it is a concept car (right now at least) and
[quote]'When asked if they would be bringing this car to production, Bill Ford replied “we’ll see.” However, rumor has it that some form of this Cobra will see production to complete the Power Trilogy.'

I guess we'll find out whether the rumor holds true or not...

600 HP!:
Sounds like a state trooper's dream in terms of meeting speeding ticket quotas...

Nice though! Thanks for the link Ian.

The only thing is that they better add some kind of cover if it goes into Production, since rain occurs just about everywhere, even if snow doesn't :)
