PROBLEM WITH ASUS 48 16 48

helllo everyone,

I am using Asus 48 16 48 cd writer and nero 5.5.9.14 and i have got a problem when i burn a cd. i am using Infiniti 48 speed, 730mb, but the nero identify the cds as 16 speed when i am going to burn.

What do I have to do????? to fix the problem

The specs of me computer are:

P4 2,4
512 DDR RAM 2700
ABIT IT7 MAX2 V2

Use different media and upgrade the firmware. (Make sure to enable PIO mode for the firmware upgrade process!)

Windows 98: Control Panel - System - Device Manager - CDROM Properties - disable DMA

Windows 2000/XP: Control Panel - System - (Hardware) Device Manager - IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers - (choose appropriate channel) - Advanced Settings - (chose appropriate device) - Transfer Mode: PIO Only

After a successful upgrade, set the drive back to Ultra DMA mode!

And which program is more suitable to burn cds

I prefer WinOnCD Power Edition, though Nero and other apps work fine also.
