Remote Desktop Management Software

Postby smartin4 on Fri Jul 02, 2004 9:19 pm

Just curious, what program(s) do you use for remote desktop control? I am looking for some suggestions (free/less than $150 for a license), and PC Anywhere is out of the question.

At work we used to use Netmeeting (slow, unresponsive, and a general PITA to use). A friend of mine told me about Dameware, which works pretty well, but can be a little slow and jumpy, plus the license fee is $289.

I am currently using a program called Goverlan, it works well and I think the license fee is $99.

Any suggestions/reccomendations for any others I should try?

Are you talking about keystroke logging software?

No.I dont want key loggers. They are messy.I would like the software like TightVNC which will run in background.A software without a systray icon will also do.And the software should be cheap, for 7 PC's.

NetOp Remote Control from Danware Data should suit you perfectly. It's possible with this app to make the host program (to receive incoming requests) load automatically at bootup and to make it hidden from systray.

(The program name still shows up at Task Manager in XP,2k and 2k3 however this is usually inevitable. I'm not sure about Win9x task manager).

It's a reliable and highly customizable app.

Check it out at: http://www.netop.com/_Remote+Control
