Replacing my LiteOn 48/12/48 but with what?

Postby Aashanti on Mon Nov 18, 2002 5:46 pm

Hi guyz..

replacing my LiteOn 48/12/48 since I can't get the damn thing to do DMA and therefore the damn thing is unusable.

check out http://forum.cdrsoft.cc/showthread.php? ... to=newpost for my DMA voes.

But what will burn SafeDisc 2.x and SecuRom etc like the LiteOn..

Regards,

Simon

Before you give up on that LiteON, have you looked at the FAQ's on the bottom of this forum? There's something about getting XP to enable DMA.

I wonder why someone said not to use 80pin cable? They're working fine for me.

Aashanti, are you Templar from the cdrsoft forum?
if so, you're using a motherboard with a SIS chipset.
you should read this thread:
P4S533 and Plextor, not happy?
it appears that SIS chipsets/IDE drivers are not very friendly to some burners... :x

Well I got it from the Templar Knights.. most powerful Knighthood the world has ever seen until Kings and other novelty conspired to their downfall.

BTW Solved my Lite On problem :).. bought a Qteq IDE 133 controller and hooked the Lite On to that.. works like a charm.. don't understand how SIS can't get it right with an IDE controller. Their latest P4 chipsets have been great otherwise.
