Samsung SM-348B

I bought a Samsung 348B because of the great reviews I read. What interest me also was according to CDR Labs review:

If you use a lot of 99 minute CD-R discs you should be happy that Samsung's new combo drive had no problems recognizing our 99 minute CompUSA media and reading it until the very end. The drive reached a maximum read speed of about 50x before it dropped off.

The one I purchased at best buy did not recognize my CompUSA 24X 99 minute CD-R. Have anyone else notice that? I updated to the latest firmware but still not recognize as 99 minute only 79 minute.

You're talking about blank 99 minute media, right? That's normal.

As Ian says, this phenomenon is normal. I also have some 99 minutes but they are always identified as 79 Min 703 MB CDs. But I have been able to write upto 830 MB sucessfully but no more. Has any of you been able to break the barrier of 830 ~ 840 MB in Nero (or any other app) in Samsung 340 drive?

Instead of answering your question, did I raise another one?

(OT: Once a politician asked from another one from a different country, that why do his people tend to answer questions with a counter question, the other one replied, "Do we?". I think this is a true story. Have a laugh if it's funny).
