Sony CDRW Enclosure HELP

Sony Spressa USB CRX100E/X CD-RW

that is what i got, an old cdrw that i took the drive out and installed a formatted hard drive in the enclosure. i tried to look up the hard drive through the disk management but didnt see any and the drive didnt show up in my computer either. anyone can help me out on this?

Did you make sure that the drive is set to master? The enclosure needs to have the drive set to master in order to be recognized. I have swapped CD-RW drives on this kind of enclosure before, but never a HDD. That being said, they are both ide devices so the swap should be do-able and the bandwidth should be adequate for it.
